Christmas Magic Continues

Christmas magic continues at Virginia Beach with a presentation of The Nutcracker and another holiday concert. The Nutcracker [caption id="attachment_1264" align="alignleft" width="274"] via Daily Press[/caption] Lose yourself in the beauty and grace of The Nutcracker , a ballet choreographed to the strains of the great musical scores of Tchaikovsky. The costumes and charming story along with the music and dancing work together to make an entrancing production. Because of the way it delights the senses, the show is a cherished annual tradition for many. It will be presented at the Sandler Center for Performing Arts at 7:30 p.m. on December 16, as well as at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on December 17. Tickets are $20. Santa’s Seaside Village is a beachy type of Christmas attraction that has animated displays, live entertainment, shopping and Santa Clause. Most people over 50 will surely remember the USO Christmas Shows of Bob Hope. For 50 years, this beloved comedian traveled to war zones around the world to entertain our armed forces. Everyone loves holiday markets because they carry beautiful items with which to adorn the home for the holidays. They are also great sources of creative gifts. McDonald’s Holiday Lights at the Beach

Beginning November 18, the Virginia Beach boardwalk will be aglow, bringing the joy and wonder of Christmas to the area. Every year, more than 25,000 families make a journey through the McDonald’s Holiday Lights at the Beach a part of their seasonal festivities. [caption id="attachment_1225" align="alignleft" width="278"] via Virginia Beach[/caption] The sparkling display includes frolicking porpoises, leaping dolphins and a 40-foot tall Christmas tree along with Santa and his elves. A highlight is a huge exhibit of the 12 Days of Christmas. The lights are quite an affair, as The American Bus Association includes it in their list of "Top 100 Events in North America for 2011." Hours are from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Sunday through Thursday and from 5:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. Admission is $15 per car.
