At KOA Care Camps, KOA says “yes.” And more importantly, it is doing something about it. Having cancer shouldn’t mean giving up the joys of childhood. That’s why the KOA Campground Owners Association created the Care Camps Trust – to help children who have cancer enjoy carefree time focusing on fun, friends and activities instead of on their illness. Campers can help out on this project during Care Camps “Big Weekend” May 9-10. Stay as a paying guest Friday, May 9, at Virginia Beach KOA and get Saturday, May 10, for free. Golden Gloves Event Coming to Virginia Beach April 11-13

Virginia Beach’s Surfside Inn is the site for the annual North Carolina/Virginia Golden Gloves Championships hosted by Seven Cities Boxing of Virginia Beach. The event will run Friday night through Sunday afternoon, April 11-13. The boxing venue is a short drive from the Virginia Beach KOA. Teams participating are from Virginia and North Carolina and will include military members of Hampton Roads, Camp LeJeune and Fort Bragg. These young men are ready show their skill and daring to the people of Virginia Beach. Open class champions will advance to the Washington, D.C. Regional Golden Gloves Championships. The boxing venue is at 
1211 Atlantic Ave. General admission is $25 and VIP seating is available. Doors open at 6 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 1 p.m. on Sunday.
