Ted Neely Concert

Ted Neely, a performer best known for his leading role in the iconic film Jesus Christ Superstar, will present a concert on March 29 at the Sandler Center for the Performing arts. Campers of Virginia Beach KOA who attend will be entertained with songs from the early rock musicals of Sgt. Pepper’s, Hair and Tommy, as well as hear stories about the making of the Norman Jewison film. The concert is from 8 to 10 p.m., and the cost of admission is $28 to $53. Those who enjoy hockey can head over to Scope Arena in Norfolk this weekend, when the Norfolk Admirals will play Syracuse Crunch. Game times are at 7:30 on March 29 and 7:15 on March 30. Star Party – Mt. Trashmore

Gazing at the beauty and wonders of the night sky is a pastime that has captivated people down through the ages. Late in the evening on March 22, residents of Virginia Beach KOA can attend a star gazing party on Mr. Trashmore, where they can view the celestial hosts through a variety of telescopes. Representatives from the Virginia Beach Public Schools Planetarium and Back Bay Amateur Astronomers will be on hand to point out constellations. The event begins at 11 p.m. On March 22 through 24, the National Cheer Championship by the Sea will be held at the Virginia Beach Convention Center. It should be entertaining to watch this competition that is a mixture of showmanship and athletic prowess. Tickets for one day range from $14 to $20. Yuengling Shamrock Marathon

On March 15 through 17 the city will be hosting the Yuengling Shamrock Marathon, an event that will not only involve running races but also a sports and fitness expo. Virginia Beach KOA is offering a 10 percent discount for those entering the marathon. The only thing required is to show your registration. Another event on tap for this weekend is the 27 th Annual Virginia Beach Spring Craft Market. This creative festivity will feature the work of more than 150 artists and craftspeople from around the country offering paintings, specialty foods and photography, along with jewelry, clothing and candles. New lines will include home and garden accessories, such as statuary, birdhouses and outdoor furniture, as well as wind chimes, pottery and welcome wreaths. Campers at Virginia Beach KOA will enjoy a trip to Jungle Golf, a course with a jungle theme that has mixed challenges for all ages. A game room is inside and snacks are available for purchase. Lynnhaven House is one of several historic homes that are open to the public in the Virginia Beach area.
