The Yuengling Shamrock Marathon is an annual event that includes beer, festive green décor and running — three wonderful things! Come out March 19 – 20, 2016 for three races suited for all fitness and age levels. Dash in the TowneBank Shamrock 8K on March 19 at 7:45 a.m. The course includes a scenic view of Virginia Beach as the huge crowd cheers you on. If you’re 18 or older, you can run this race! Middle and high school students are invited to run the Access College Foundation 8K Student Challenge.

Swing Back to the 1940s This Valentine’s Day

There was something truly romantic about the 1940s, wasn’t there? Good news — you can relive the romantic decade this month in Virginia Beach. Stay at Virginia Beach KOA with your sweetie and spend some quality time together.

The Military Aviation Museum is hosting the 1940s Valentine’s Hangar Dance on February 13 from 6 – 10 p.m. Dress up in your favorite 1940s-themed outfit and dance the night away to live music by Terry Chesson Jump ‘n Jive Orchestra. Admission is just $50 a person.

Appetizers will be served from 6 – 6:45 p.m., including cheese and spreads, zucchini rounds and more. From a mashed potato bar to Herb-Crusted Pork Loin, penne pasta and more, there’s something for everyone. Top off your sweet night with dessert. Choose from cookies, cupcakes, chocolate mousse and fruit with chocolate sauce. The bar will be open until 9:45 p.m.
