Looking for some family fun on Virginia Beach? Check out the Family Great Adventure Series and stay at Virginia Beach KOA. The Family Great Adventure series is a free event in which families can take part in an interactive adventure, leading to various sites along the boardwalk. Work your way down the beach as you unravel a mystery. Activities consist of games and contests right on the water. Participants can dress up as characters and spread out in the sand for a family-friendly movie shown on an inflatable screen. Finding Nemo will be playing on Saturday, Jun. 21 as part of the Seaside Search, on the beach at 27 th street. Will your family be able to solve the clues to discover Nemo’s hiding place? Beach Blast in Virginia Beach

Some of the best Division III college softball teams are gathering in Virginia Beach this coming weekend for the annual Beach Blast softball tournament. This event will draw 28 teams from across the U.S. and is hosted by Virginia Wesleyan College. Games will be contested Friday, Feb. 28, and Saturday, March 1, at the Princess Anne Athletic Complex. The Princess Anne Athletic Complex is located in the heart of Princess Anne Commons across the street from the Virginia Beach Sportsplex and Farm Bureau Live Virginia Beach Amphitheater. Partnered with the city of Virginia Beach, the Beach Blast is one of the most successful DIII softball tournaments across the country. The King Neptune statue was built in honor of the Neptune Festival, which is held each September. Volunteers of the popular annual Neptune Festival wanted a statue that honored the festival. They raised private funds and commissioned Richmond artist and sculptor Paul DiPasquale, who designed and created the massive statue. It was dedicated in September 2005.
