Good Camping Weather Returns (and So Do the Campers!) to Virginia Beach KOA

Sweet Deal Details Virginia Beach KOA offers several incentives each spring to entice campers into the great outdoors. For starters, Kids Camp Free through April 30 at the Virginia Beach KOA. This means anyone under the age of 18 gets in free to this delightful KOA. On the heels of this promotion is Care Camps Big Weekend , May 9-10. This KOA-wide event allows all campers who pay to camp the night of May 9 to get the night of May 10 free. All proceeds from camping and special activities go to support Care Camps, which provide a summer camping experience for children who are undergoing cancer treatment. Homeschool Appreciation Weekend is May 16-18. Parents who homeschool their children and pay for one night get the second night free.

Virginia Beach’s Town Fair Resumes April 18

On the third Friday of each month during spring and summer, local artisans and merchants gather at the Town Fair to sell handmade, fair-trade art and goods at the Fountain Plaza and along Central Park Avenue in The Town Center of Virginia Beach. The Town Fair is an outdoor market showcasing several local artisans and merchants from throughout the Hampton Roads region. Fair hours are 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. This year’s round of shows begins April 18. Other Fair days will be May 16, June 20, July 18, Aug. 15 and Sept. 19. Come celebrate St. Patrick’s Day weekend in Virginia Beach as part of the 2014 Yuengling Shamrock Marathon, Half Marathon and 8K . These and affiliated races will be staged March 14-16 in Virginia Beach. The weekend of racing begins on Saturday, March 15, with the TowneBank 8K, the 8K Middle School Challenge, the Leprechaun Dash and Operation Smile Final Mile. On Sunday, March 16, the Anthem Half Marathon and Yuengling Shamrock Marathon will be staged. The races will attract a field of 28,000 runners. There is a Sports & Fitness Expo on Friday, March 15, and in conjunction with Saturday’s events. The event features races and challenges to accommodate all ages and skill levels. The course is flat, fast and scenic as it follows along the beautiful oceanfront. Runners will recover at huge post-race parties, that will feature live entertainment, ice cold Yuengling beer and much more.
