Kick Off July With a Bang!

Ready for some fireworks? We thought you might be. The good news is the Stars and Stripes Explosion will take place on July 4 on Virginia Beach, and Virginia Beach KOA is nearby! Multiple live performances will take place on oceanfront stages for a “star-spangled” salute to the wonderful U.S.A. Musical acts range from patriotic to classical to Motown and tributes to Bruce Springsteen and British pop. There will be something for the whole family. WAVY-TC 10 news anchor Tom Schaad will host the 20 th Street Stage concert. Sandstock—A Tribute to Rock and Roll is the best thing since Woodstock, and Virginia Beach KOA is the best place to stay! Regional and national tribute artists will be covering everyone from Pink Floyd to Journey on two beach stages at 24 th street, June 20-22. The Machine, a tribute band to Pink Floyd, will perform on June 20 from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. and 9:30-10:30 p.m. on the Hippy Dippy stage. The Machine has a 25-year reputation of excellence, extending the legacy of Pink Floyd. Departure is one of the most respected Journey tribute bands in the nation, and your chance to hear them comes on Saturday June 21 from 7:30-8:30 p.m. and 9:30- 10:30 p.m. on the Hippy Dippy Stage. Finally, Hollywood Nights is the ultimate tribute to Bob Seger and The Silver Bullet band. The band continues the groundwork laid down by Bob Seger over the years. Looking for some family fun on Virginia Beach? Check out the Family Great Adventure Series and stay at Virginia Beach KOA. The Family Great Adventure series is a free event in which families can take part in an interactive adventure, leading to various sites along the boardwalk. Work your way down the beach as you unravel a mystery. Activities consist of games and contests right on the water. Participants can dress up as characters and spread out in the sand for a family-friendly movie shown on an inflatable screen. Finding Nemo will be playing on Saturday, Jun. 21 as part of the Seaside Search, on the beach at 27 th street. Will your family be able to solve the clues to discover Nemo’s hiding place?
