Big Band Hangar Dance

What are you doing for Valentine’s Day? You’d be hard pressed to find a more enjoyable way to celebrate the occasion than attending the Big Band Hanger Dance on February 10. Dress up in 1940s attire, and come for a magical evening of dancing to the swing music of the Terry Chesson Orchestra. Instructors from the area swing dance club will be available to give dance lessons during band breaks. This is your opportunity to learn the jitterbug, Charleston and lindy hop. If you desire, you can also enjoy a three-course dinner, where your options include grilled chicken breast, seafood-stuffed flounder and grilled beef medallions. Horseback Riding in Virginia Beach

The Dinner Detective

If it has been a while since you laughed long and hard, attending The Dinner Detective may be just what the doctor ordered. This interactive comedy murder mystery show that includes a nice meal is coming to Virginia Beach on January 27 and February 17. The show hides actors in the audience who are pretending to be patrons. As you eat dinner, a detective finds clues, interrogates members of the audience and aids everyone in solving the mystery. The guest who can give the best answer of who the killer is wins a prize package. Rumor has it that the experience is a mega-hoot! Admission is $59.95 plus taxes. Winter Camping at Virginia Beach

The fun in our beautiful oceanfront city never stops. Even in the middle of winter, you’ll find plenty of enjoyable pursuits here. Winter Wildlife Festival On January 26 to 28, experienced guides will take you on excursions to observe winter wildlife all around the city. The outings will teach how to observe birds, harbor seals and other creatures in their natural settings. Stop at the Princess Anne Recreation Center to browse through the environmental exhibits, vendors and live animals, as well as to engage in workshops.
