Join the Fun and Run on Feb. 15 in Virginia Beach

thumbs_logoIt’s not too late to sign up for the 2014 Bon Secours In Motion Virginia is for Lovers Races presented by StellarOne Bank on Saturday, Feb. 15. Bring the entire family and enjoy running the 14K, 6K or 1K (for the kids)!

This annual event starts in front of the Virginia Beach Field House at 8 a.m., not far from the Virginia Beach KOA. Why not stay in a cozy Deluxe Cabin, complete with full bath, kitchenette, and comfy beds? Anyone coming for the race can stay at Virginia Beach KOA and get 10% off campsite or cabin rentals.

Here’s a brief schedule of events:

  •  7 a.m. - 9 a.m. Packet Pick Up at Virginia Beach Field House

  •   8 a.m. Sweetheart 6K Start (In front of Virginia Beach Field House)

  •   9 a.m. Bon Secours In Motion Virginia is For Lovers 14K Start (In front of Virginia Beach Field House)

  •   9:15 a.m Cupid's 1K Start (In front of Virginia Beach Field House)

  •  9 a.m - 12:30 p.m Post Race Party


Participants can sign up to run the entire 14K or entire 6K as an individual or as a couples team. The races take the runners past the Princess Anne Athletic Complex, U.S. Olympic Field Hockey Training Center and the Sportsplex Stadium. This fast, flat course finishes inside the Virginia Beach Field House where runners can celebrate with music, food, beer and the award ceremony.

Cupid's 1K is a fun run (untimed) for the little loves of your life. Ages 3 - 10 are invited to register for this non-competitive run where your little one will receive a race shirt and medal.Virginia is for Lovers race logo

Ready to say “I Do” all over again? Meet at Lovers’ Lane on the Virginia is For Lovers 14K course during the race and renew your vows with your loved one right before you both cross the finish line. An ordained pastor will be onsite along with a few other surprises that will surely create a vow renewal runners will never forget.
