On the weekend of May 2-4, volleyball players take over the Virginia Beach KOA as we host the annual DIGS volleyball tournament.

People who wish to play can register at http://www.thedigs.net. Players can camp here and receive 10% off. Or spectators can just come for the day on Saturday, May 3. Admission is $8 per person, all the proceeds of which go to support KOA Care Camps for children who are undergoing cancer treatment.

Speaking of Care Camps, the Virginia Beach KOA joins other KOAs across North America May 9-11 for the Care Camps Big Weekend. Campers staying at Virginia Beach KOA as paying guests on Friday, May 9, are eligible to receive a free night of camping on Saturday, May 10. Proceeds from this event go to support Care Camps across the U.S.

The following weekend (May 16-18) is Homeschool Appreciation Weekend at Virginia Beach KOA. Parents who homeschool their children and pay for one night get the second night free. This third annual event is unique to the Virginia Beach KOA. Campground Managers Keith and Barb Stachurski are homeschoolers and tell their fellow homeschoolers: Come get a much-needed break and create some family memories with fun activities, relaxation and recreation. The entire weekend is dedicated to homeschoolers with lots of arts and crafts, a dunk tank, flashlight candy hunts and other special events. Proof of homeschooling is required to get discount.
