McDonald’s Holiday Lights at the Beach
Beginning November 18, the Virginia Beach boardwalk will be aglow, bringing the joy and wonder of Christmas to the area. Every year, more than 25,000 families make a journey through the McDonald’s Holiday Lights at the Beach a part of their seasonal festivities.

The sparkling display includes frolicking porpoises, leaping dolphins and a 40-foot tall Christmas tree along with Santa and his elves. A highlight is a huge exhibit of the 12 Days of Christmas. The lights are quite an affair, as The American Bus Association includes it in their list of "Top 100 Events in North America for 2011."
Hours are from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Sunday through Thursday and from 5:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. Admission is $15 per car. Military and their families receive a 50 percent discount on Mondays during December. The location is the stretch of the boardwalk between 2nd and 34th Streets.
Coastal Virginia Auto Show
If you’re a fan of classic or antique cars, you won’t want to miss the Coastal Virginia Auto Show on November 19 and 20 at the Convention Center. Included among the beautiful vehicles is a 1929 and 1930 Duesenberg, which are appraised at more than four million dollars. Hours are from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on November 19 and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on November 20. Admission is $10.
