Ted Neely, a performer best known for his leading role in the iconic film Jesus Christ Superstar, will present a concert on March 29 at the Sandler Center for the Performing arts. Campers of Virginia Beach KOA who attend will be entertained with songs from the early rock musicals of Sgt. Pepper’s, Hair and Tommy, as well as hear stories about the making of the Norman Jewison film. The concert is from 8 to 10 p.m., and the cost of admission is $28 to $53. Representatives from the Virginia Beach Public Schools Planetarium and Back Bay Amateur Astronomers will be on hand to point out constellations. On March 15 through 17 the city will be hosting the Yuengling Shamrock Marathon, an event that will not only involve running races but also a sports and fitness expo. Virginia Beach KOA is offering a 10 percent discount for those entering the marathon. The only thing required is to show your registration. Another event on tap for this weekend is the 27 th Annual Virginia Beach Spring Craft Market. This creative festivity will feature the work of more than 150 artists and craftspeople from around the country offering paintings, specialty foods and photography, along with jewelry, clothing and candles. New lines will include home and garden accessories, such as statuary, birdhouses and outdoor furniture, as well as wind chimes, pottery and welcome wreaths. On February 16, residents of Virginia Beach KOA can hear some of today’s folk music at a concert featuring Al Parrish, a musician who has performed in Canada, the US and the UK. The performance will start at 7 p.m. at the Meyera E. Oberndorf Central Library. Admission is $14 to $17. An attraction in the area that bird enthusiasts will like is the Atlantic Wildfowl Heritage Museum, a facility devoted to waterfowl exhibits and history.
