Folk Music Concert

Folk music has a special place in the hearts of those who grew up in the 60s, an era that brought America fabulous songs from groups like Peter, Paul and Mary. On February 16, residents of Virginia Beach KOA can hear some of today’s folk music at a concert featuring Al Parrish, a musician who has performed in Canada, the US and the UK. The performance will start at 7 p.m. at the Meyera E. Oberndorf Central Library. Admission is $14 to $17.

An attraction in the area that bird enthusiasts will like is the Atlantic Wildfowl Heritage Museum, a facility devoted to waterfowl exhibits and history. Visitors will find contemporary and antique decoys, as well as an interactive computer that informs about the area’s wildfowl. A special feature of the tour is the carving room, where a resident carver will demonstrate techniques and answer questions.
