Military Aviation Museum

Neptune Festival

A famous series of oceanfront activates coming up on September 28 through 29 is the Neptune Festival, an event that will offer campers at Virginia Beach KOA a broad variety of entertainment. The signature part of the festival is the North American Sandsculpting Championship, a world-class competition drawing sculptors from around the globe. Under a huge tent, 12 solo contestants and 10 doubles teams will vie for the biggest prize awarded in the country for this type of competition. Teaching demonstrations will also be provided, so novices can learn how to create their own masterpiece in the sand. In addition to the sandsculpting contest involving artistry, the festival will include several contests involving athletic prowess, including a volleyball tournament, surfing classic and foot race. Fall Kickoff

Summer is over and it’s time for the fall football season to begin. On September 21 and 22, campers at Virginia Beach KOA can participate in fall kickoff, where they can wear their favorite team’s apparel. Residents can also have the fun of decorating their site with their team’s colors and competing for the best team campsite. A good place for delicious barbeque that has been slow cooked for hours is Jake’s Smokehouse Bar-B-Que. Try the chicken with your choice of sides, such as mouth-watering beans and hush puppies. Top it all off with an order of banana pudding, brownie delight or fruit cobbler. The oceanfront always has live entertainment on Fridays and Saturdays.
