Neptune Festival

A famous series of oceanfront activates coming up on September 28 through 29 is the Neptune Festival, an event that will offer campers at Virginia Beach KOA a broad variety of entertainment. The signature part of the festival is the North American Sandsculpting Championship, a world-class competition drawing sculptors from around the globe. Under a huge tent, 12 solo contestants and 10 doubles teams will vie for the biggest prize awarded in the country for this type of competition. Teaching demonstrations will also be provided, so novices can learn how to create their own masterpiece in the sand.

In addition to the sandsculpting contest involving artistry, the festival will include several contests involving athletic prowess, including a volleyball tournament, surfing classic and foot race. The ocean will also be the scene of a contest, as an array of boating vessels will race in the Atlantic Regatta.
