Shamrock Marathon Weekend

Anyone who enjoys walking or jogging will have a great time at the Shamrock Marathon Weekend on March 20 and 21. The event will include a fitness expo, as well as races that are appropriate for all skill levels and ages. The race route goes right past Virginia Beach KOA! Some of the joys associated with the race are scenic oceanfront views, live music at the finish line, and Irish stew provided by Murphy’s Pub. It’s a great way to welcome the arrival of spring. Costs to participate will vary with the race. You may register from noon to 9 p.m. on Friday at the expo, located in the Convention Center at 1000 19th Street. The races will run at various times on Saturday at the boardwalk.

Farmers’ Market

It’s always interesting to go to the local farmers’ market, but it will be extra fun at the Celebrate Agriculture event on March 21. You can browse through merchandise from more than 100 artisans and crafters while sampling delicious edibles from food trucks. Activities will be available for children, too.
