Whale
Watching
December to March is prime whale-watching time in the city, as these
magnificent creatures of the sea make their migration to less frigid waters. Put
on a warm jacket and go on an exciting excursion out into the ocean offered by
the Virginia Beach Aquarium or Rudee Tours. In addition to various species of
whales, you’re likely to glimpse dolphins, seals and porpoises. Staff members
will help you spot all the interesting sights.
Bach to
the Carnival Concert
Leave it to Symphonicity to come up with an entertaining concert for
children. The performance, Bach to the Carnival, on January 11 will take the
audience on a journey of sights and sounds relating to carnival fun. While the
music starts at 3 p.m., be sure and arrive by 2 p.m. so the kids can enjoy the
petting zoo and face painting.
Ticket prices range from $5 to $15. The location is the Sandler Center
for the Performing Arts at 201 Market Street.
Visit a
Spa
After the business of the holidays, consider taking a breather and indulging
in a little pampering at one of the local spas. If you’ve never had a massage,
you’ll find it’s an unbeatable way to relax.
