Last-Minute Christmas Plans

If you’ll be in town during the next two weeks, you’ll have a trip to remember because of all the local festivities and myriads of lights at the beach. In addition to the previously mentioned things to do, here are a couple more events hosted by the Sandler Center for the Performing Arts to squeeze into your holiday itinerary.

The Nutcracker

On December 20 and 21, Ballet Virginia will present The Nutcracker, an exquisitely beautiful classic that combines Tchaikovsky music with enchanting choreography, costumes and sets. It never fails to delight people of all ages.

Ticket prices for adults range from $39 to $59, and prices for children 12 are under are $22. Friday’s performance is at 7:30 p.m., while Saturday’s performances are at 2:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. The address is 201 Market Street.

Messiah Sing-Along

Regent University will present The Messiah on December 19, but if you prefer, you can attend the Symphonicity’s Messiah Sing-Along on December 23. The concert is free, and musical scores are available for $10. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the music starts at 8 p.m.

Brooklyn Manilla Project

After the glorious holidays are over, you can still find interesting entertainment in the city. On January 10, it will be fun to attend the Brooklyn Manilla Project, which involves Filipino music, dance and martial arts.

Ticket prices range from $30 to $50, but teachers and the military are eligible for discounts. Showtime is 8 p.m. Like the above events, it will be held at the Sandler Center.

  1. Wow, you are awesome & I really so happy to see your valuable blog. I hope this would be more helpful for all. Well, this year I have planned to spend our vacation at escape room. I have also experienced an interesting escape room through “ESCAPE FOLSOM” & there was many puzzles game for kids also. I would say this seems like kids friendly escape rooms.
