October Fall Family Festival Weekends

Many people feel there is no more magical time of the year than fall, when the air is crisp and trees are ablaze with vibrantly colored foliage. Savor this special season with a camping trip on one of the Halloween/Fall Family Festival weekends, scheduled on October 4 to 6 and October 18 to 20. 

The activities will vary a bit but will include things such as hay-wagon rides, pumpkin picking, painting, music, costumes, plenty of candy “opportunities” for the kids and so much more.

Oceana Air Show

On September 21 and 22, you can watch thrilling flight demonstrations and parachuting feats at the annual Oceana Air Show. Attendance is a must for aviation buffs because in addition to the performances, the event will feature historical and contemporary aircraft displays.

Be sure and bring the children, so they can participate in KidsFest at the Air Show. For a $10 admission fee, they can enjoy face painting, games, sumo wrestling and bounce houses.

General admission is free, but upgraded seating is available for purchase. Flights start at 10 a.m., and the famous U.S. Air Force Air Demonstration Squadron Thunderbirds will perform on both days. The location is the Oceana Naval Air Station at 1750 Tomcat Boulevard.
