Don’t Miss the Seniors’ Gala

Want something wonderful to look forward to? Instead of the same ol’ card games, picture yourself jitterbugging to the lively sound of big-band tunes at the Seniors’ Gala on September 4. Glen Boswick and the Sound of Swing band will provide three glorious hours of music that is perfect for waltzing, fox trotting and jitterbugging. 

The event will include a fabulous buffet, so it promises to be a special evening. Dust off those dancing shoes and come prepared to cut a rug!

Tickets are $15 per person. Hours are from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. The location is the Virginia Beach Convention Center at 1000 19^th Street.

Neptune’s Surfing Classic

It’s always fun to watch surfers of any age joyously ride the ocean waves. Fans of the sport can mark their calendar to attend the Neptune’s Surfing Classic on September 7 and 8. It will be interesting to see who wins the prizes.

Admission is free. Hours are from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. The location is the beach between 1^st and 10^th Streets.
