Sandstock – A Tribute to Rock & Roll

via VisitVirginiaBeach.com
Those of us who are above a certain age remember Woodstock, a major music event of the 1960s. On June 28 to 30, our fair city will host a beach-inspired version of these concerts. You can expect to see performances from some of the greatest rock musicians and groups in history such as Jimi Hendrix, The Who and Boston.

Admission is free. Concerts on Friday and Sunday start at 5:30 p.m., and the concerts on Saturday start at 1 p.m. The location is at two dueling stages on the beach at 24th Street.

Honey Festival

A sweet affair is scheduled at the Virginia Beach farmers’ market on June 22 – the Honey Festival. The gala will offer live music, children’s activities and a craft show, along with the opportunity to visit with beekeepers. Come enjoy this family event and pick up a jar of honey to take home. Raw honey is terribly healthful, and it’s delicious mixed into a cup of hot tea or poured over biscuits.

Admission is free. Hours are from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The address is 3640 Dam Neck Road.
