Family Great Adventure Series

via vabeach.com
Thursday nights are a blast at Virginia Beach because of the games and contests that are a part of the Family Great Adventure Series. The interactive exploits involve dressing up as characters and trying to solve a mystery. Afterwards, everyone settles down on the sand to enjoy a family-friendly movie shown on a giant screen. Each night’s pre-movie activities are themed to go with the movie being shown. Every participant gets a medal.

Admission is free. Hours are from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The location is the oceanfront at 29th Street.

Ynot Wednesdays

While Thursday nights in the city are fun, Wednesday nights are also most pleasant. Throughout the summer, the Sandler Center for the Performing Arts hosts a summer concert series outdoors on Wednesday evenings. Each performance features a different band, and the music will vary from Motown to country to rock. Food is available for purchase. The event also includes children’s activities and artisan vendors.

Admission is free. Hours are from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. The address is 201 Market Street.
