Farmers’ Market Hoedown

via Virginia Country Music Association
One of the pleasures of spring is enjoying outdoor entertainment in the mild evening air under the stars. The Farmers’ Market Friday night Hoedowns will start April 5 and continue through October. Bring your lawn chair and relax while listening to a concert by Dallas Band. You may also dance with your sweetheart. An ice cream treat from one of the market’s vendors will be the perfect snack.

Admission is free. Hours are from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. The address is 3640 Dam Neck Road.

Mermaid Mondays

The Virginia Aquarium and Marine Science Center is a popular local attraction throughout the year, but a favorite time to visit is on Mermaid Mondays, a weekly event in April. It will feature visits with real mermaids, as well as a mermaid puppet show and a mermaid story time. Live music and photo opportunities will be a part of the gala. What a fun outing for families with young children!

Tickets are $23 for aquarium members and $33 for nonmembers. Hours are from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. The address is 717 General Booth Boulevard.

Farmers’ Market Birthday Bash

On April 13, the Farmers’ Market will have a big bash to celebrate its 43rd birthday. In addition to the wonderful food and crafts for sale, the party will include activities for children such as face painting.
Admission is free. Hours are from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The address is 3460 Dam Neck Road.
