Wintertime Is Perfect for Visiting Museums

via TripAdvisor
These chilly days of late winter are perfect for exploring local museums. A jim-dandy option is the Surf & Rescue Museum, a depository that portrays various aspects of Virginia coast maritime culture. You can expect to learn about the evolution of bathing suits and surfing, as well as the history of lifesaving in the area. The photographs will make the rescues come alive. While the museum is small, it’s packed with interesting information, and you could easily spend two hours here. If you’ve never visited the city before, a trip to this attraction is a must.

Admission is $5. Hours are from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays. The address is 2401 Atlantic Avenue.

Farmers Market Event Coming Soon

On March 23, the local farmers’ market will host an event called Celebrate Agriculture, which will involve fun for the entire family. In addition to the fresh produce available, the gala will feature handcrafted items, food trucks and face painting for children.

Admission is free. Hours are from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The address is 3640 Dam Neck Road.
