November Events Feature Glorious Food

When the cool temperatures arrive in November, they seem to stimulate the appetite. There is nothing like a savory, hot bowl of stew or a plate of barbeque with all the fixings to warm the cockles of the heart. Upcoming events will center on these foods.

House of Brews, Blues & Stews

On November 5, you can see which restaurant in the city makes the best stew. The Virginia Museum of Contemporary Art will present its annual outdoor fall event, House of Brews, Blues & Stews, which will feature live music, craft brews and a stew competition.

Tickets are $50. Hours are from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. The address is 2200 Parks Avenue.

Barrels, Brew & Barbeque Festival

The Hunt Club Farm will be the scene of the Barrels, Brew & Barbeque Festival on November 9. This event promises to be a fabulous evening that features delicious food, live music and games, as well as local wine and craft beer tastings.

Tickets are $35 at the gate. Proceeds will go to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Norfolk.
