Oceana Air Show

September 22 and 23 are the dates of the Oceana Air Show, an inspiring event that will showcase the skills and training of our wonderful military. In addition to the exciting displays of plane maneuvers, the gala will include exhibits, food vendors and other activities. On both days, the flying starts at 10 a.m., and the famous Blue Angels will perform at 3 p.m.

While the show is located at the Naval Air Station (NAS) Oceana at 1750 Tomcat Boulevard, a free concert will be held at the oceanfront at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday night at the 31^st Street Stage. The United States Fleet Forces Band and Four Star Edition will perform. During the sunset, the Navy will do three flyovers over the beach; and at sundown, a parachute team will jump down and be presented to the audience. The music will continue until 9:30 p.m.

Admission and parking at NAS are free. Show hours are from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Apple Extravaganza

Another event on September 22, the Apple Extravaganza, will involve a craft show and music by Hanks Martin Bluegrass Band. Admission is free, and hours are from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The location is the Farmers Market at 3640 Dam Neck Road.
