American Music Festival

via Virginia Is for Lovers
On August 31 to September 1, Labor Day Weekend, the long-awaited American Music Festival will be held at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront. Because it will feature a broad variety of genres, including country, rock, jazz and R&B, you’re sure to come across a concert that suits your taste perfectly. The event is the largest outdoor music extravaganza on the East Coast, bringing regional and national artists together to perform at a giant stage at 5th Street, along with other stages along the Boardwalk.

While tickets costing $25 are required to attend concerts at the main stage, performances at the 17th, 24th and 31st Street Parks are free. In addition, entertainment at smaller side stages can be found at 13th, 22nd, and 27th Streets.

Seniors Gala

The pleasure of jitterbugging to fabulous big band songs can be yours on September 5. Head over to the Virginia Beach Convention Center, where Glen Boswick and the Sound of Swing will play from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. With all that dancing, you’re likely to work up an appetite; so a delicious buffet will be available throughout the evening.

Tickets are $15 per person. The address is 1000 19th Street.
