Thursday Night Family Adventures

On Thursday nights, the Virginia Beach waterfront will be the scene of the Family Great Adventure Series. The wildly popular weekly event is an interactive exploit, where participants endeavor to solve a mystery through brawn and brains. Afterwards, a movie is shown on a giant screen on the beach.

No admission is charged. Hours are from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The location is the beach between 20^th and 30^th Streets.

Movie Nights

Every other Friday night, a free movie is shown at the Landstown Commons shopping mall. Peter Rabbit is scheduled for July 20, while Coco is scheduled for August 3. Bring a blanket or lawn chair. Refreshments are available for purchase.

Hours are from 7:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. The address is 3312 Princess Anne Road.

Gem, Mineral & Jewelry Show

If you enjoy looking at estate or handmade jewelry, as well as all manner of gemstones, plan to be in town on July 20 to 22, when the Treasures of the Earth Gem, Mineral & Jewelry Show will be held.

Admission is $5 for adults. The location is the Virginia Beach Convention Center at 1000 19th Street.
