From now until the end of the season, the oceanfront will be alive with big doings on weekends. Some of the festivities, such as those below, are opportunities to enjoy something rather unique. They involve entertainment that you don’t come across every day.

Atlantic Coast Kite Festival

Experience a visual feast at this annual favorite, with kites of every size, shape, and color flying high on the beautiful ocean breezes.  On May 5, come and watch, or enter the competition, which is open to all ages and all levels of kite aficionados. A kite-building workshop is included. Admission is free.

Monsters on the Beach

An event with high-octane excitement, Monsters on the Beach will be held on May 11 to 13. Those who attend can sit in bleachers and watch monster trucks race along the waterfront. If you love activities that are loud and fast, this is the gala for you. Admission tickets are $15 in advance or $25 at the show. The location is on the beach at 6^th Street.

International PAN Fest

What do steel drum music and international food have in common? You can enjoy them both at the International PAN Fest on May 11 and 12. On Friday, a band will present a concert at the 24^th Street Park, while on Saturday, 20 bands from across the country will compete for the Grand Champion Award. Headliners will perform Saturday evening. Admission is free.
