May 5th Festivals

Now that we’re getting deeper into spring, local community galas are gearing up. The two festivals below are on the agenda for May 5^th.

Kentucky Derby Party

Horse racing fans will enjoy attending the Kentucky Derby Party at Seton Youth Shelter. The event includes live horse races, mint juleps, equestrian exhibitions, a hat contest, music and great food. In addition, it provides a large-screen live broadcast of the Kentucky Derby. If you can’t be there in person, this party is the next best thing.

Admission is $115. Hours are from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. The location is Back Bay Farms at 1833 Princess Anne Road.

Chic’s Beach Festival

From noon to 8 p.m., you can listen to live music outdoors and sample craft beers at Chic’s Beach Festival. Tickets are $25 in advance and $35 at the door. The location is HK on the Bay at 4600 Lookout Road.

Volleyball Tournament

Attention volleyball fiends! You won’t want to miss the tournament held at our campground on May 17 to 19. This friendly competition will be loads of fun. Even if you don’t play, it will be enjoyable to watch.
