Kiss Me Kate

via Virginia Musical Theatre
The Sandler Center for the Performing Arts brings to the community stellar entertainment such as Broadway shows like Kiss Me Kate on April 27 to 29. This classic example of musical theater, which first opened in 1948 in New York, is based on Shakespeare’s Taming of the Shrew. The uproarious comedy, lively dance numbers and sublime songs by Cole Porter will make the two-hour play seem to fly by on angels’ wings. You’re sure to leave with a smile in your heart.

Tickets range from $20 to $58. The Friday show starts at 8 p.m., the Saturday shows start at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. and the Sunday show starts at 2:30 p.m. You’ll find it at 201 Market Street.

Hunt Club Farm

What do a farmers market, petting zoo, bird aviary and pony rides have in common? They can all be enjoyed at Hunt Club Farm. The petting zoo has a menagerie of animals, such as lamas, goats and sheep, while the aviary has gorgeous peacocks, lovely doves and crowded cranes. A good time will be had by all at this delightful attraction. The address is 2388 London Bridge Road.
