Summer Fun Continues at Virginia Beach

Before the kids start back to school, you still have time for a family vacation at Virginia Beach. Aside from enjoying the fun activities at the campground, you may attend several weekly events hosted by the city

YNOT Wednesdays

Every Wednesday throughout the summer from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., the Sandler Center for the Performing Arts offers concerts featuring an array of musical genres that include folk, Motown, rocking country and more. If you purchase a scrumptious meal of pizza or subs at Ynot Pizza & Italian Cuisine, the concerts are free. A farmers’ market is also associated with the event. The address is 201 Market Street.

Other Weekly Events

On Wednesday and Sunday nights, you can see a fireworks display at the beachfront. After a full day of campground activities or visits to the city’s historic sites and museums, it’s nice to walk to the Boardwalk to watch the dazzling show at 10 p.m.

Symphony by the Sea is held on most Thursday nights. Admission is free, and the location is the 31st Street Stage Park. Hours are from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.
