Chalk the Walk ARTsplosion
Do you like to dabble in art? If so, Chalk the Walk ARTsplosion is an event you’ll love.
On July 8, artists of all ages and skill levels will grab a 4’x 4’ space on the boardwalk to create a masterpiece. No fee is required to participate, but artists are asked to bring their own chalk. The artwork, displayed on two blocks, will be judged and prizes will be awarded in the categories of amateur, professional and youth. Even if you aren’t artistic, it will be fun to be a spectator. This year’s theme is Meet Me at the Movies.
Symphony by the Sea Concert Series
The first concert in the Symphony by the Sea series will be held on the beachfront at the 31st Street Stage on July 6. During this event that is free and open to the public, pops music played by the Virginia Beach Symphony will fill the air. No concert hall can compare to the outdoor setting, where you can feel gentle ocean breezes and see stars sparkling against the velvet of the night sky. Hours are from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.
