Spend Memorial Weekend at Virginia Beach

On Memorial Day, we remember those who have served our country so faithfully. Our hearts will fill with gratitude as we reflect on the fact that the privileges and freedoms will hold dear have come at a terribly high price.

Salute to Summer

While Memorial Day is a solemn occasion, it is also a joyous one. A great way to celebrate it is to attend Salute to Summer, which is a star-bangled tribute to the military on May 26 to 28. The event will include free entertainment on three stages, a heroes’ walk and a display of essays on historical U.S. military conflicts. You’ll find it at three locations: Dairy Queen Grill & Chill 17th Street Park, 24th Street Park and 31st Street Park.

Pungo Strawberry Festival

The Strawberry Festival will also be held on the weekend of May 27 and 28. You can enjoy entertainment, a parade and a large carnival, as well as pig races, art vendors and a grand military display. Best of all, it will feature every imaginable kind of strawberry treat. The address is Farms throughout Pungo at 1776 Princess Anne Rd K.
