One of the most fun galas of spring is coming up on May 6 – the 12th Annual Atlantic Coast Kite Festival.

Whether you are a flier or a spectator, you can expect to have a grand time at this event that appeals to all ages. Awards will be presented for the most unusual, biggest and funniest kite, along with the youngest and oldest flyer. In addition, American Kite Association members will perform kite routines set to music.

Are you a novice at kite flying? No problem. “Each day “flight training” will be offered, where experienced flyers will teach all the fundamentals to newbies.

Admission to the festival is free, and no fees are charged for entering the contests. Hours are from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and the location is the waterfront at 17th Street.
