Polar Plunge Festival

During winter, hearty souls in various parts of the world take a brief but cold dip in a body of water – an activity referred to as a polar plunge. You can be either a participant or spectator at such an event in Virginia Beach on February 3 and 4.

Even if you don’t feel up to such a chilly endeavor, the festivities will be fun to watch. The location is the beach between 30th to 40th Streets. Hours are from 10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Baja Cantina

A restaurant that offers a mix of Mexican cuisine and seafood, Baja Cantina is a place where you can enjoy one of the local dishes – fish tacos. You can choose from fried or blackened fish, as well as from flavorful sauces that range from mild to hot. They are served in a huge flour tortilla with all the accompaniments

The breakfasts are also quite tasty. Try dishes such as a fried corn tortilla filled with cheese and scrambled eggs. The huevos rancheros are delicious as well. The address is 206 23rd Street.
