Last Night on the Town

Virginia Beach is a fun place to celebrate New Year’s Eve, as the city is hosting a gala event called Last Night on the Town on December 31.

The festivities start at 2 p.m. in the Pembroke Mall. Magical Solutions will entertain, a world-renowned escape artist will perform, and at 5 p.m. a balloon with drop.

That is only the beginning. Throughout the night, the Town Center will offer live music on several stages. The headline band is the nationally known artist Smash Mouth. Around midnight, a laser show, fireworks display and ball drop will usher in 2017.

Admission to all the activities is free, and food and beverages will be available for purchase. Merchants and restaurants will have specials to commemorate the new year.

Doc Taylor’s Restaurant

A favorite eatery among locals and visitors, Doc Taylor’s Restaurant would make a wonderful place to have breakfast, brunch or lunch. Try the Sweet Potato Pancakes for breakfast and the Flounder in a Bag or Cobb Salad for lunch. Eating on the sunporch is most pleasant.
