If someone in your family is a railroad enthusiast, you’ll want to attend the Tidewater Division Model Railroaders 27th Annual Train Show & Sale on October 8 and 9. The show will involve white elephant tables, train doctors and how-to clinics. Admission is free for children under 12 and $8 for adults. The location is 1000 19th Street, and hours are from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Community Yard Sale
On October 8, Virginia Beach will have a community yard sale at 5269 Learning Circle. Going to such sales is like a treasure hunt: you just never know what diamond-in-the-rough you’ll find. Hours are from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Duck Donuts
This donut shop has received rave reviews – and for good reason – their confections are mouthwateringly good. Duck Donuts will provide you with hot, freshly-made donuts that are hand-dipped in the icing and toppings of your choice. Try the pumpkin with vanilla drizzle. The location is 233 Laskin Road, and hours are from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m.
