Stars and Stripes Explosion
Happy July 4th of July, everyone! We welcome you to spend this special time at Virginia Beach KOA, so you can enjoy the exuberant celebration on the nearby waterfront. On Independence Day from 4 to 11 p.m., the beach between 16th and 18th Streets will be the scene of the Stars and Stripes Explosion, an event that will draw tens of thousands together to pay joyful homage to our incomparable country. The program will begin with tribute bands. Following at 8 p.m., the Symphonicity and the Virginia Beach Chorale will present a performance, which will be a combination of patriotic numbers and Broadway tunes, as well as movie themes and folk music. This entertainment will culminate with a fabulous fireworks display over the ocean. No admission will be charged.
An alternative July 4th event will be held from 4 to 10 p.m. at Mount Trashmore Park, involving live music by local musicians, along with food and fireworks. This event is also expected to attract a very large crowd. A $5 parking fee will be charged.
