Oceanfront Entertainment

The lineup of artists scheduled for June 29 includes Tropical Steel, Plastic Eddy and Tidewater Drive Band, as well as Mocean, Virginia Legends Live and Army TRADC Band. Another event in the area coming up on July 28 through 30 is the American Outdoor Show, an occasion where you can see the very latest products for camping and other outdoor sports like fishing and boating. Sandstock Rock Tribute

On June 21 through 23, campers at Virginia Beach KOA can enjoy the beach version of Woodstock at an event called Sandstock – A Tribute to Rock and Roll. Beachgoers can hear hits of Led Zepplin, Journey and Queen, as national and local artists celebrate the music of the 70s, 80s and 90s. For a special treat, the festivity will even include tribute performances to a legend who is the favorite of many -- Elvis. Topping the evening off, a laser light show will be displayed on a giant screen. This music extravaganza will also feature activities and games for all ages. In another blast from the past, Mount Trashmore Park will host A Totally 80s Party, a concert that is part of their Party in the Park series. Dig out your old acid-washed jeans to wear to this 80s affair. The Party will be at the Town Center on June 21 from 7 to 10 p.m. Remember that the Old Beach Farmer’s Market will be open at 620 19 th Street on June 22 from 8 a.m. to noon. Come pick up some luscious locally grown produce.

Hats Off to Dads

In honor of Father’s Day, kids can camp free during the weekend of June 14 through 16 at Virginia Beach KOA. Dad will adore this time of relaxation, and the time spent camping will deepen family bonds, creating memories to be cherished for a lifetime. June 15 is the third Saturday of the month, when the Town Fair at Town Center will be held. Between 3 and 6 p.m. you can shop for handmade goods and enjoy outdoor entertainment. On June 16 from 2 to 5 p.m., a Father’s Day Tea Dance will be hosted at the Boardwalk Beach Club. The sound of big band music will fill the air as you dance under the white tent on the boardwalk. Snacks and drinks will be furnished. One of the best outdoor art shows on the East Coast is coming up – the 58 th Boardwalk Art Show. Hardee’s Latin Fest

Staying at Virginia Beach KOA this coming weekend will put campers in a convenient spot for experiencing Latin tastes, sights and sounds. On June 7 and 8, the oceanfront will be the scene of Hardee’s Latin Fest, an event where first-rate performers will electrify festivalgoers with music, providing an irresistible Latin beat for dancing under the stars. Aside from the rhythms of merengue, salsa and jazz, you can enjoy a Zumba marathon. Instructors will be available to teach this easy, Latin-inspired fitness routine. The event is free to the public. This weekend will not only bring an event honoring Latin culture but also an event celebrating Native American culture. On June 8, 17 th Street Park will be the location of the SkyFest Eastern Sky Festival and Concert, a shindig that will involve live music, dances and food.
