Heroes Weekend at Virginia Beach
Memorial Day Weekend is the official start of our summer camping season at Virginia Beach KOA. Out activities schedule will be jam-packed with fun for the whole family.
The community also has some spectacular events planned. On May 25 and 26, the area will have its Pungo Strawberry Festival, an annual event involving a parade, large carnival and impressive military display, as well as pig races and a crafts show. Best of all, the festivity will offer visitors all the strawberries they can eat, prepared in 50 different dishes. Special highlights of the event will include a strawberry bake-off and pie eating contest. A popular festival, it draws more than 120,000 attendees.
Another fabulous event on May 24 through 26 is Salute to Summer, a patriotic salute to the country involving music, food and the military. Local and regional bands will provide free entertainment on three stages. Also, the Heroes Walk on the boardwalk from 17th to 31st Street will display essays written by local high school students describing out country’s military conflicts.
The Steel Pier Classic, a surfing competition, will also be held on May 25 through 27. The location will be the oceanfront from 1st to 5th Street.
This holiday will be a wonderful time to visit our park. Visit our website and reserve your spot today.
