Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge

November is a perfect time to be outdoors enjoying the bracing fall air. While the area has several destinations that campers at Virginia Beach KOA would delight in, one option is Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge. Over 9,000 acres, the area consists of beach and dunes, along with woodlands and marsh. This unspoiled beautiful refuge is a habitat for wildlife including some threatened species like sea turtles and the bald eagle.

It is a nice spot for bird watching, picnicking or just relaxing and taking in the landscapes. Visitors can also hike and bike, as well as fish or canoe. The quiet peacefulness of the area makes it a nice escape from crowds.

Before you go to the refuge, you may want to stop at Route 58 Delicatessen to pick up some sandwiches. Everything is delicious and they have the best corned beef Rheubens in the area.

Come experience the pleasures of fall camping at our park. Visit our website and reserve your spot today.
